Can a fresh new forum make it going into 2026?

Honestly considering it, love managing a good forum, but what to call it and how to make it strive in this economy?
I think you can if it's a narrowed down niche.

A general forum like this one is hard. This one is doing good but it takes a lot to get to that point.

I have a forum all about forums and blogs, too:

That was does pretty good because of its niche, others not as much.

I love forums. I'll always make them as long as at least a few people remain active members.

But you're not going to get the popular forums we used to see 20 years ago. I think that is way over.

I'm hoping (probably in vain) to see a slight resurgence in forum popularity. With younger generations moving away from social media and leaning toward a more analog lifestyle, it would be great to see them rediscover (or simply discover) this medium. I doubt it would last, but it would be cool to see them give it a chance.

You just have to comply with their lifestyles.

They don't like the rule-driven forums that were common 25 years ago.

They want something free. Sure, some rules are a must, be be okay with some bending.

I still say keep it 18+ to be safe.
