Here is the live scanner feed if you want to hear first responders:

3 Dead, 11 Injured

A UPS plane has crashed at Louisville's international airport, causing an explosion, giant plumes of smoke and fire to spread nearly a mile.

The airport is currently closed.

MetroSafe said reports of an explosion came in at Grade Lane and Fern Valley Road.

The FAA said the plane crashed around 5:15 p.m. as it was taking off from SDF, heading toward Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, Hawaii.

I was listening to the scanner. The fire fighters had a heck of a time responding to it. Lots of resources!

I just saw this on reddit, so much political BS happening I didn't see any news info on it.

Such a tragic thing :(

I saw that news, and it was heartbreaking. Things like that remind you how fragile life is. I do not even like flying again because of all these crash headlines. Sometimes I just pray for the pilot to land safely at my destination..

This was awful to see and my thoughts are with everyone involved in the crash :(

I read most flights from UPS and another company have now been grounded since the crash.
