Do any of you have an electric car?

How do you feel about them? Do you plan to eventually have one?

Do you think everyone should eventually be using an electric car?

My baby sister and her fiance have a Telsa, they’ve had it for about a year.

They love it, but I don’t plan on ever getting an electric car. I’m a fan of gas cars.

I drive a 4x4 truck and often use it to get down rugged forest service roads where we might be camping a week at.

I'd hate to give that up for an EV.

I'll stick to my gas guzzling truck!

I don't have any electric car at the moment but I would definitely buy once soon.

What I currently have is an electric bike which is very convenient for me to use.

I've ridden an eBike. They're pretty cool. I'm a cyclist so I already bike now and while I like my non-ebike better, if I ever get into a situation where I can't ride a traditional bike anymore, you better believe I'll be an ebiker lol

I know very well that you're a cyclist. You had one forum with the niche some time ago. I wonder if it's still up?

Petrol is very expensive right now and it's one of the reasons why I enjoy my ebike more than anything. It saves me so much cost.

I had a Tesla for about a year. I had no complaints about it, tbh. It was really fun to drive (probably too fun) but isn't practical unless you live in an urban area with ample chargers.

Service for it was surprisingly nice. I had to have a tail light replaced and they drove to my house and replaced it within 2 hours of me calling.

No, and I don't think I have the possibility of being able to buy one since they are quite expensive, but I have some doubts if electric cars really don't harm the environment.

Was service expensive?

Since it was under warranty, it didn't cost me anything. Had it been out of warranty, the service call would have been $99 + whatever repairs needed.

Watching the light change was interesting. Instead of replacing the bulb, they replaced the entire housing of the tail light. The whole car was put together like Legos.

What about changing the battery? I heard that the total costs with labor for changing the battery for Model S cost to to $20,000-$22,000.

And what do they do with the old batteries?

Also, you know how many gallons of water it takes to put out an EV battery fire? At least 60,000. That's a whole lot of water waste.
