How do you feel about service dogs?

Do you think anyone abuses this right? Just "pretends" their dog is a service dog so they can bring them everywhere they do?

I haven't had one before but I would love to have their experience. Human beings can do anything to please themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if someone did that.

I think people do it more so than we think.

I have never had a service dog but if there comes a time when having one is necessary for me, I wouldn't hesitate to get it. I will most likely go for a German shepherd.

I have a dear friend/sister who has a service dog as she has some major medical issues. My husband and I are looking for one as I have some medical issues including really bad PTSD as well as my husband but he got his from the Army and I got mine from abuse.

Service dogs are amazing, honestly. The way they’re trained to assist people, it’s just so beautiful. I once saw one helping a blind man cross the road and it touched me deeply.

Any NPOs offer them for little to no cost at all?

Those usually exist in more populated areas.

To the degree it be a service dog, it is a lot of training.

Our dog is a service dog. She is trained to calm and comfort you from anxiety attacks. She will know before you even have one, its amazing! Apparently, our behaviors trigger a certain scent that a dog can pickup. Your body will know before you have an attack, thus it has a particular smell the dog can react too.
