Anyone here watch either the first or second Black Phone movie?

I thought the first one was better. The second one gave too many Nightmare on Elm Street vibes and I've talked to others who think the same.

True, but his spirit did come back so it was interesting to see him use the previous movie's powers.

Finney Shaw is a shy but clever 13-year-old boy who's being held in a soundproof basement by a sadistic, masked killer. When a disconnected phone on the wall starts to ring, he soon discovers that he can hear the voices of the murderer's previous victims -- and they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn't happen to Finney.

Takes a little bit to get into what the movie is trying to do, but once you realize what is going on, turns into something great and jump scare heavy.
