Do any of you fast for dieting and health reasons?

Convince me why fasting is a good idea or why it's a bad idea!
 
Fasting is good. When you fast, your body goes into ketosis process and your body starts using fats for energy instead glucose for energy, which will improve your metabolism and reduce body fats.
 
Fasting is usually done for 24 hours. For example, if you eat your last meal on Sunday evening, your next meal will be on Monday evening. During the fasting period you can take liquids but should strictly avoid solid. Some people even fast for 36 hours.

I am a Muslim by faith and I fast in the month of Ramadan. Sometimes I also fast on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, as Ashura is the day of martyrdom of our Holy Imam Hussein (Alaihisalam❤️??????♥️?????❣️???). Fasting has many health benefits and many doctors recommend people to fast.
 
Yes I usually fast a lot, besides fasting based on my religious beliefs I also fast for health reasons. Our body usually needs time to break down what we eat, fasting gives the body time to break down the food we eat. Fasting can also be used to detox the body.
 
It's not everyone that can fast as a result of their health situation. I fast but it's not going to be more than 6am to 12pm.
 
I’ve done it a couple of times, mostly when I felt like I needed to reset. It works for me but it’s quite tough especially when you love snacking ?. I think short fasts are fine, but those super long ones? nah, I can't do that no more .
