Should cigarettes be banned?

Smoking is bad for you. It's bad for other people around you. If you have kids and you smoke around them, you're potential shortening their lifespan.

I used to smoke. I smoked for 20 years. I've quit and have been a non-smoker for quite a few years. I'm glad I quit. I hated cigarettes!

Do you think that cigarettes and smoking should be banned? Why or why not?

In my home country, smoking is banned in public places. And cigarette ads are also banned in the media.

I don't believe in smoking around kids, but what adults do with themselves is their business.

But I do believe adults smoking around other adults in supermarkets, practically everywhere is a type of harassment, unless it's not an enclosed area.

I say ban cigarettes around those under 18, those who do not want to be around them, and the public.

Well, dealing with smokers creates an uncomfortable situation because it sounds self-righteous. It would be the same with weight shaming. I mean, people's weight really isn't anyone's business except some want to bully.

Tobacco, much like say Marijuana grow in the ground. I don't see it bad ( as I sit here smoking out of my tobacco pipe). Many luxuries of different kinds horrible habits come and go in the world. Vaping gives you pop corn lung and tobacco gives you cancer. Choose your poison. As long as you are not doing it to inertially hurt others I couldn't care less. I personally have a Gene in my DNA that i cannot get addicted to Nicotine. I smoke for maybe 2 months out of the year during the holiday and just stop. Others are, and well most people are acceptable to Nicotine addiction.

No. It’s gross. Just like vaping, smoking weed, or drinking alcohol. Keep all that private or somewhere inside away from majority of people.

There's other stuff that poisons besides tobacco. For instance, recently I had to spray the long-term motel room I lived in with roach spray. There's no way that stuff couldn't be cancerous.

My wife messed around with Round Up for years. Now it's being said that it was severely dangerous. I really worry about that. She doesn't and still uses it here and there.

As people age immune systems weaken. I mean, smoking, for instance, is bad but a lot of youth can survive it unscathed.
