Updating Forum Software

Curious how folks here handle forum software updates. Do you stay on top of every new release as soon as it drops, update occasionally when there's a feature or fix you need, or just let things run until something breaks (or never update at all)? Would love to hear what drives your approach. Security, stability, laziness, fear of breaking stuff?

Occasionally, when I have time, is my answer, which isn't a very good answer at all!

I've noticed that VB6 is getting more updates lately.

I still have a VB6 forum up, but haven't promoted it yet. I want to keep something up to keep testing new updates.

Updating forum software can be very tiring because of the level of difficulty. I remember when I tried updating mine last year, everything got me confused for like two days . But once you are able to pull through and it works, it’s very interesting.
