It looks like that you can no longer buy Junk food with food stamps anymore. Things include soda, chips, candy and other items are on the chopping block soon as well. They are aiming for more home prepared meals.

Is anyone affected by this, how do you feel that a thing like soda being just an expensive treat now?

EDIT:

A 2016 USDA study using point-of-sale data found that 23 percent of purchases by SNAP households were sugary drinks, desserts, salty snacks, candy, and sugar, which is generally called junk food. With SNAP purchases of more than $100 billion a year, that would mean more than $23 billion of junk food a year.

Good.

Get rid of section 8 as well.

or limit it to 1 year maximum

Or at least screen who is doing it.

Anxiety shouldn't be a reason to get everything free. There are plenty of jobs you can do out there.

Section 8 should only be available for 1 year maximum.

Right. People definitely use it and then other people try to justify it as just being helpful to the human race. Well, take away my debt. I want free too but I can't have that because I work for a living.

I agree with getting rid of junk food on food stamps!! Good job to whoever did that.

Should only be for fruits, veggies, and uncooked meat

Yeah. I agree. No junk food or any comfort food. Get a job for that because all that leads to medical problems which means more taxpayer money to fix you.

I agree the money should be used towards just healthy stuff and main ingredients/spices. No reason to walk out with a ton of bad food.
